Professional

I had a CEO living across the street who brainstormed the way most people breathe — constantly, and out loud.

He'd call me over at odd hours, sometimes with a fully formed pitch, sometimes with a single sentence and a look in his eye. One New Year's morning, it was drone delivery.

I'd take whatever fragment he handed me and build it into something real — a framework, a deck, an architecture we could actually execute on. That habit of turning "what if" into "here's how" turned into our core platform, which has since evolved into an entire eCommerce remote hardware delivery platform.

That's how I work best — fast, and willing to run with it…

    Impact and Intent

Across twenty years of building products, experiences, and solutions, my work has always centered on improving real human outcomes — reducing friction, increasing clarity, and designing interactions that genuinely support the people who use them. I’ve shaped solutions in HealthTech, FinTech, eCommerce, Telecom, and security, each time translating complex ecosystems into experiences that feel intuitive and humane.

My intent now is to use that depth of experience to contribute to the world we’re actually living in — one where technology is powerful, pervasive, and in need of thoughtful stewardship. I aim to build products and solutions that elevate human wellbeing, strengthen trust, and create measurable positive impact. Whether through retention strategies that reduce frustration, onboarding flows that empower patients, or product architectures that simplify complexity, my work is driven by a commitment to designing technology that serves people, not the other way around.

Consulting Services

I help teams and founders translate vision, vibes, and human insight into products that improve lives.

My focus is clarity, alignment, and experiences that feel natural to the people who use them. Twenty years across HealthTech, FinTech, Telecom, and Retail have taught me how to move fast without losing the thread — from a single sentence to something a team can actually build.

Product Strategy | Turning vision into solutions.

I've guided products from zero-to-one launches to next-gen platform partnerships — including a security ecosystem built alongside Google, and a delivery platform architected from concept to deployment in the middle of a global shutdown. I help teams find the version of "here's how" hiding inside "what if," and build the roadmap to get there.

Design | Design is translation.

I help brands, products, and service offerings express their essence through form, flow, and feeling — design that resonates because it’s tested with real people, not just assumed. A 151‑participant study once reshaped how a medical device taught first‑time patients to trust it. That’s the standard: intuitive, emotionally intelligent, and proven.

Startups | From spark to launch.

I partner with founders to define purpose, set direction, and build early systems that scale without losing their essence — foundations strong enough to carry a company from a late‑night pitch to a living platform.

UX | Designing for human clarity.

UX is not just how something works, it’s how it feels to use. I’ve spent twenty years turning complex systems — medical devices, security hardware, enterprise platforms — into experiences people can trust on the very first try.

Professional Philosophy

Turning two decades of experience into work that serves people — and technology that remembers what it's for.

For twenty years, I've lived inside the evolution of technology — from the earliest versions of mobile experience design to the AI-driven systems reshaping how we think, work, and connect. I've built products for a 6-million -customer security platform, architected a contactless delivery system in the first weeks of a pandemic, and helped translate a Class III medical device into something a frightened new patient could actually trust and use.

Across HealthTech, FinTech, Telecom, and Retail, the work has looked different every time. The throughline hasn't. Find where the friction is, understand what people actually need, and build the bridge between what an organization can do and what a human being feels when they use it.

Some of that bridge-building shows up in numbers —

  • a mobile billing redesign that cut support costs by $600K,

  • a research study across 151 participants that reshaped how a diabetes device onboarded new patients,

  • six patents born from asking "does this actually reduce someone's fear."

Some of it shows up in things that don't fit on a spec sheet — the moment a cross-functional team stops arguing and starts building toward the same picture, the interface that finally feels like it was made for someone instead of at them.

Now, my focus is shifting — from building what's next to innovating what's right. I want the solutions and offerings I help create to hold something more than efficiency, such as alignment, trust, and a kind of care that survives contact with scale. Technology has stopped being just a tool. It's a mirror. My work is making sure what it reflects back is thoughtful, human, and worth the trust people place in it.

What People Are Saying

Adam Emond

“Several years ago, after only knowing Shannon for a short while, she introduced me to Jeff Patton’s “User Story Mapping” which now stands as one of my favorite books on the tactical side of Product Management. She learned exactly what I was looking for and helped me find it. And she does the same thing for customers.

Shannon sees anti-patterns and calls them out; not wanting to accept the status quo. She asks “why” and encourages the rest of us to ask “why” through humor, research, persistence, and asking tough questions. It was a joy to learn from Shannon while she ideated, refined, and delivered appropriately-sized customer-focused experiences.”

Ray Serrano

“I can appreciate specialists doing their job, but Shannon’s arsenal: creative background, coding experience, strong leadership skills, and her ability to put these together to hit business goals, is a rare combination of talent. User experience extends to how an audience relates to a company, not just their product - so a company’s ability to have a cohesive brand communication and product interaction is a huge value. Not many can pull off this vision and I won’t hesitate in recommending Shannon to lead any company to that vision. Plus, she's a hoot to work with and would do so again in a heart beat.”

Meera Collier

“Shannon's unbounded energy and creative aptitude is unlike anyone I have ever worked with. She embodies a unique combination of being artistic and possessing a logical, mathematical mind. She conducts research thoroughly and has a reason for every creative decision she makes, with the added benefit of her decisions being aesthetically and artistically sound. She is also such a friendly person and lots of fun to work with. I hope that I can work with her again in the future! I would jump at the opportunity.”

Amritesh Chaudhuri

“Shannon is an exceptionally gifted Creative leader, especially so, in an organization with an ever changing landscape and continuous changes in priorities. She is exactly what is needed to help drive a business and has great initiative and energy. Shannon puts users 1st, can understand what's needed in an instant, comes up with innovative solutions, and takes charge and complete ownership for deliverables even when they span across cross-functional teams. Her presence is infectious not only to her own team but across the organization as she breaks complicated UX design decisions into consumable chunks. Shannon's ability to take these decisions across UX, marketing and ultimately back to the product teams to design and build differentiated solutions is what sets her apart. I would feel more than confident if Shannon was at the helm of any creative team.”
